Scientific Name : Tadorna tadornoides
Common Name : Australian shelduck
Description : Head and neck black, breast chestnut, with white neck ring, plumage mainly black, but wings show large white patch, with green and chestnut also conspucuous.
Habitat : Lakes and rivers. Nest usually in hollow in tree (2-25m above ground)
Distribution : SE and West of Australia. May occasional be seen along Billy Creek, but in early spring, several gather in Fosters Gully, perching in tree tops and calling loudly. Probably nest in Fosters Gully.
