Scientific Name : Platycercus elegans
Common Name : Crimson rosella
Description : Predominately crimson red, with the back mottled with black. The throat wings and tail are blue. Immature birds are green.
Habitat : Forests and woodland.
Distribution : East coast of Australia from central Queensland to Victoria. In Victoria, mainly in the south and east, with a yellow subspecies along the Murray. This is one of the commonest and most easily observed birds in the Park and may be seen anywhere.
