Scientific Name : Olearia lirata
Common Name : Snow daisy-bush
Height : Up to 5 metres
Description : Large shrub, with slender branches which are covered with whitish short woolly hairs (Tomentose). Leaves are lanceolate, 60 to 150 mm long by 10 to 30 mm wide tapering to an Acute point. The margins are slightly toothed. Upper surface is dark green smooth, while the under side is Tomentose with dense Stellate hairs. Flower-heads are in large dense Panicles. Individual flower-heads are typical daisy flowers, about 15 mm diameter. ). Fruit are Achenes, each with a Pappus of whitish bristles about 4 mm long.
Habitat : Wet Schlerophyll forest and wet gullies.
Distribution : Common in the Park, particularly along Fosters Gully, but also found along Billy Creek. Common in Southern and Eastern Victoria, and also found in Tasmania, South Australia and New South Wales.
