Description :
A shrub to small tree, much branched, with fairly fibrous bark. Leaves are shortly stalked, 60 to 150 mm long by 20 to 60 mm wide, with scattered teeth along the margins. Upper surface is dark green and shiny, while the lower surface is silvery from a dense covering of T-shaped hairs. Flowers are in large open

s, but individual flower-heads are small, daisy-like but with only 3 to 5 flowers in each head having a

). Fruit are

s, each with a
Pappus
of whitish bristles about 5 mm long.
Habitat :
Wet
Schlerophyll
forests and fern gullies.
Distribution
:
Fairly common along Fosters Gully. Scattered on hillsides above Billy Creek. Occasional throughout the Park. Common through wetter forests of Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.
