Scientific Name : Lathamus discolor Common Name : Swift parrot Description : A small slender parrot, to 250mm. It is mainly green, with a red face and throat, long slender red tail and conspicuous red underwings and under tail coverts. Blue along the edge of the folded wing and on the forehead. Habitat : Open forests and woodlands. Distribution : Breeds only in Tasmania, but winters in Victoria and eastern New South Wales. Not recently recorded in the Park. Family : Psittacidae
