Scientific Name : Egretta alba
Common Name : Great egret
Description : A tall slender, long-legged wading bird, to 1000mm. The plumage is entirely white. The bill is blackish, with a yellowish base in summer, becoming yellow in winter. The legs are dark grey to black.
Habitat : Coastal and inland waters, swampy areas and wet grasslands.
Distribution : Throughout Australia and beyond. Very uncommon in the Park, where it is most likely to be seen adjacent to the Western boundary and in the vicinity of Billys Creek.
