Scientific Name : Cochlicella barbara
Common Name : Small pointed snail
Description : A small snail of up to 12mm, introduced from Europe. The shell is broadly conical, about twice as long as its greatest diameter. It is thin, almost transparent, horn-coloured with brown bands of variable width.
Habitat : Under low plants, or on leaves and stems, in gardens, pastures and cultivated areas.
Distribution : Throughout Victoria, Tasmania and Southern New South Wales in cultivated areas. In once-cleared areas of the park along Billy Creek.
Family : Helicidae
This is an introduced species
