Scientific Name : Cacatua galerita
Common Name : Sulphur-crested cockatoo
Description : A large parrot, to 450mm, with broad wings and short tail. It is all white, except for pale yellow under the wings and under the tail, and a conspicuous sulphur yellow crest. The crest feathers, at rest, protrude from the back of the head, but when raised, fan out to form a large conspicuous crest. The bill is near to black.
Habitat : Forests, woodlands and open country with scattered trees.
Distribution : Throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, extending across the North to Northern West Australia and in the South to Adelaide in South Australia. Introduced around Perth. May be seen anywhere in the Park, where it is fairly common.
