Scientific Name : Amanita xanthocephala
Common Name : Vermilion grisette
Description : Cap to 50 mm diamete, yellowish-orange to orange, with a Striate border, often with a few warts. The stem is pale cream, with a conspicuous basal swelling, surrounded by remnants of the Volva. Gills are cream, Free and crowded. Spores are white.
Habitat : On the ground in open forest.
Distribution : West Australia, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. Widely distributed through the forested areas of the Park. Found on both sides of Fosters Gully and on hillsides above Billys Creek.
