Scientific Name : Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris
Common Name : Eastern spinebill
Description : A small honeyeater, to 150mm, with a slender curved bill. The male has a glossy black head, with a red eye. The throat is mainly white with a broad black border, and a rddish brown patch in its centre. The belly is rufous-buff. The back and wings are grey-brown, with a rufous band across the neck. The outer tail feathers are tipped with white. The female is smaller and duller, with dark grey on the crown of the head.
Habitat : Forests and heaths.
Distribution : East coast of Australia from Queensland to Adelaide and Tasmania. Throughout Victoria, except for the north-west. May be found anywhere in the Park.
